kathy quote on carbon calc

We can help!

In an ideal world, none of us would fly or drive unless the jet or vehicle were powered by renewable energy. However, it is a simple fact that our lives are woven into a carbon-intensive world. We should all do what we can to reduce our carbon footprints, but what is a climate-conscious traveler to do about the trips we take?

If we assume one air mile produces about 53.5 pounds of CO2, you can estimate your emissions when you know how many miles you are flying. Let’s assume it costs about $8.18/mile to offset your carbon for your trip. This means that you can multiply your miles by 6.54 – which is 53.5 divided by 8.18 – to estimate what amount of money will offset your carbon.
