The Climate Protection Campaign, a nonprofit organization based in Sonoma County, seeks an inspirational individual with strong leadership and organization skills and a background in organizing, youth activities and project management to manage the implementation of the Cool Schools Program throughout Sonoma County.
Examples of Responsibilities:
- Under direction of the Executive Director and in close coordination with other staff, develop and implement a program for youth and climate change for schools in Sonoma County and beyond
- Manage and implement a two year grant contract with Alameda County Waste Management Authority to implement a project to reduce emissions from the student commute in every high school in Sonoma County
- Be responsible for all coordination, fulfillment and reporting required for this grant
- Coordinate with project partners, e.g., the Sonoma County Bicycle C/oalition, the Alliance for Climate Education and the Santa Rosa Junior College Students for Sustainable Communities Club (SRJC-SFSC), in developing and implementing education and promotional activities for this grant.
- Initiate, facilitate and follow up on meetings with multiple stakeholders
- Create youth related materials and web content as needed
- Manage contacts associated with this project and facilitate communication among participants
- Make presentations
- Develop and manage an annual budget and program plan for Cool Schools
- Hire, train and supervise Project Coordinator to assist in the schools
- Build strategic relationships with local and regional stakeholders which will make the program more effective and sustainable.
- Work with Development Director and/or Deputy Director for grant opportunities and fundraising that will continue to support Cool Schools.
- Brief Executive Director on developments in the project
- Other tasks as assigned by the Executive Director
Minimum Qualifications:
- Four-year college degree
- Four years relevant work experience, including minimum two years working with youth.

Terms:
This is a full time position. Salary between $42,000 and $48,000/year commensurate with experience. No health benefits. Dependent on funding availability.
