Ann Hancock, Executive Director and Co-Founder
Ann co-founded the Climate Protection Campaign in 2001. With over 25 years in community leadership, education and fundraising, she has been a sustainability planner for the County of Marin, commentator for TomPaine.com, human sexuality instructor at Humboldt State University, and real estate broker. She has a Masters in Public Health Administration and Planning from the University of California, Berkeley.
Barry Vesser, Deputy Director
Barry began working with the Campaign in 2005. Prior to this, Barry directed a nonprofit in the Sierras and built the organization from total resources of less than $8000 to $2.1 million in less than seven years. He was also director of a nonprofit promoting organic agriculture in Nepal and was Peace Corps volunteer in the Philippines. He has an M.A. in International Public Administration.
Brad Heavner, Development Director
Brad has 14 years of advocacy and organizational management experience with statewide and national environmental organizations. He was the architect of the nation’s strictest state policy on existing coal-fired power plants, the Healthy Air Act, and led the campaign for Maryland’s Greenhouse Gas Emissions Reduction Act. He is the author of dozens of research reports written for statewide environmental campaigns across the country. He leads the development of financial resources for the Campaign while helping to guide its growth.
Brant Arthur, Transportation Implementation Manager
Brant manages the implementation of the transportation component of Sonoma County’s Community Climate Action Plan. He recently completed a Master’s Degree in Development Practice focusing on engaging local governments and climate change. He implemented sustainability programs for non-profits in Boston, worked with students to fund solar projects in Western China, and organized stakeholders to halt urban sprawl in Brisbane, Australia.
Chris Cone, Energy Efficiency Implementation Manager
Chris Cone is the Implementation Manager for the Climate Protection Campaign overseeing the implementation of energy efficiency strategies identified in the Community Climate Action Plan. Chris is the CPC liaison to the Sonoma County Regional Climate Protection Authority (RCPA) and is assisting with the development and launch of the RCPA’s new Countywide Retrofit/Renewables Program. Chris was the technical editor for the CPC’s Community Climate Action Plan and is currently working with Solar Sonoma County to develop its Solar Implementation Plan. She is a founding member of the Thousand Home Challenge NorCal Collaborative, which is developing guidelines for deep energy reductions in residences, and is a certified Home Energy Rating System rater.
Woody Hastings, Renewable Energy Implementation Manager
Woody has twenty-three years of energy and policy experience with government, non-profit organizations and private companies throughout California. He has focused on solar power, landfill gas, hydrogen vehicles and environmental justice. Professional associations include the Rahus Institute, California Solar Project, Trust for Public Land, North Bay Institute of Green Technology, Sonoma County Conservation Council, and EcoVote.
Alex Dolginow, Ag, Forestry & Adaptation Implementation Manager
Alex Dolginow is the Implementation Manager for the agriculture, forestry, open space and adaptation sector. Alex is a Harvard Fellow who recently graduated with a B.A. in neurobiology with additional coursework in environmental science and public policy, ecology and land use planning, and renewable energy financing. Past experiences include teaching sustainable urban design to Chinese students, field coursework in urban engineering in Brazil, and helping fund and implement a clean water project in the Dominican Republic.
Amy Jolly, ECO2school Program Manager
Amy has a background in education as well as transportation. She started her career as a teacher, then owned and directed the Jolly House preschool for five years. She also helped start a foundation at a local charter school. Amy then worked as the Education Program Manager for the Safe Routes to School program at the Sonoma County Bicycle Coalition. She now manages programs in local high schools to train student leaders and reduce greenhouse gas emissions from student commutes.
Lisa Murgatroyd, Project Coordinator
Lisa Murgatroyd is the Project Coordinator working with Brant Arthur to implement the Real-Time Ridesharing Pilot Program. Lisa spent the past eight years designing, launching and managing community-based, sustainability projects in climate change solutions, organic agriculture, and appropriate technology issues across California and in Washington. Lisa has a B.S. in Environmental Science with an emphasis in Water Quality and Appropriate Technology from Humboldt State University.
Stacey Meinzen, Solid Waste Implementation Manager
Stacey has done program development and outreach for several important initiatives. She brought a social justice emphasis to the climate policy world with Green For All. She did marketing for the state’s Flex Your Power program. She was a program analyst at the Regional Climate Protection Authority. She has worked as an energy auditor. And she has consulted for EcoCity Builders, Petaluma Transit and Daily Acts.
Brittany Russell, ECO2school Program Coordinator
Brittany is teaching local high school students to run programs that reduce greenhouse gas emissions. Prior to joining the Climate Protection Campaign, she spent two years with the California Air Resources Board doing field research and outreach linked to enforcing the state’s diesel standards. She also helped run a program at the Crissy Field Center in the San Francisco Presidio bringing students on camping trips and teaching them about ecology.

Lora Neffson, Executive Assistant
Lora has nearly 14 years of community-based, human services experience in office administration and direct services. She has a BA in Sociology, has been a resident of Sonoma County for 20 years, and is a passionate advocate for reducing greenhouse gases.
