Thank you for your interest in attending the Business of Local Energy Symposium on May 5th in Long Beach! The conference organizers are providing scholarships to cover the cost of registration to attend the event.

Scholarships are open to local and regional government staff, elected officials and non-profit organization representatives working to advance community choice energy in their communities. Priority will be given to jurisdictions that are exploring or have emerging CCEs and individuals working in rural, hard-to-reach, and/or underserved communities. Since we have limited funding available, scholarships are limited to one recipient per organization/jurisdiction. Scholarships will be awarded on a first-come, first-served basis, with need and background taken into consideration.

The application deadline is Friday, April 21, 2017 or until all available funds are awarded.

Applicants must apply for a scholarship using the online scholarship application form.

Scholarship Selection and Notification Process

We encourage you to apply right away, as decisions will generally be made on a first-come, first-served basis. We will try to respond promptly to your request so you can make your travel arrangements in a timely manner. Scholarships are strictly limited to one recipient per organization/jurisdiction.

Once your scholarship application has been received and processed, a determination will be made as to whether you do or do not qualify. Every attempt will be made to issue awards promptly, though the exact time frame will be dependent on the volume of applications received. All award notifications will be sent by email.

If you receive a scholarship award, it has been made directly to you and cannot be transferred to anyone else without a formal written request and the prior approval of the event organizers.

You MUST register by Wednesday, April 26, 2017, or your scholarship will be forfeited.
